About Greg

Greg is an experienced technology leader.

I’ve worked within huge multinational firms and struggling startups.  I’ve been involved with venture backed firms and firms fighting for survival each and every day.  I’ve experienced the dismay of failure and the joy of success. Since 2001 my primary focus has been on the technology driving Internet advertising, specializing in affiliate marketing solutions. 

In 2010, I started my own small company.  This company created vertically focused comparison shopping sites, but changes in Google’s search made that business very difficult.  In 2014, I began a skincare business, originally known as Sinful Soap and Skinfully Wicked, and currently being rebranded as Beloved Radiance.

Most recently, I’ve been developing hybrid mobile applications using the Ionic Framework.

My first love is using technology to solve real world business problems.  I can communicate effectively with both software engineers and business executives to effectively be the bridge between the two.

Professional Experience

Greg Stoltz Consulting, Indiana PA 2017 – Current

In the beginning of the year, I worked on an R&D project for a financial technology startup, which involved a single page app written using JQuery and some server side API consumption and text pattern recognition.   

Most recently I’ve been developing hybrid mobile applications using the Ionic Framework.  One project is used by an energy producer to track well production and maintenance.  The application needed to work with sporadic network connectivity and was developed to synchronize the data from the iPads to the central server whenever the condition of the network supports it.

Skinfully Wicked, LLC  Pittsburgh PA 2014 to 2016

Owner

Company formulated and manufactured (handcrafted) various natural skincare products including soaps, balms, oils and body sprays.

Co-Owner

Company created and operated various data driven websites.  It was fun to be able to dig into the details and create again.  I built out a network of sites which were vertically focused comparison shopping experiences.  The sites are being wound down at this point.  Changes in Pennsylvania law negatively impacted the affiliate marketing model which was the primary revenue source of the business.

Jambo Media was a video solutions company, working to create an exchange for both video content and advertisements.  Responsible for designing the infrastructure supporting the platform, building and supporting the development team and implementing the software development processes.

Responsible for leading the organization from consistently loosing thousands of dollars per month to being solidly profitable in ten months.   Lead the team through to rapidly evolve the processes and tools to support continuing growth.  Company currently has 9 employees and is generating thousands in monthly profits and free cash flow.

Giftcards.com  Pittsburgh, PA 2007 through 2008

Responsible for splitting the giftcards.com infrastructure from the Direct Response infrastructure following the sale transaction.  Supported the development team and dealt extensively with challenging fraud issues.

Direct Response Technologies, Inc.  Pittsburgh, PA 2001 through 2006

CTO

Lead the technology development and infrastructure support for the company.  During this time DirectTrack(tm) and KeywordMax(tm) were both created and released as products.  When I joined the company in early 2001, it was a media company with revenue derived from advertising.  The company transitioned to a technology services company providing both DirectTrack and KeywordMax to clients.  These were software as a service(SAAS) businesses.  I was responsible for scaling out the platform to support our growing list of clients.

The company also had divisions running mycoupons.com and giftcards.com, as well as the DirectLeads CPA network.  Following the acquisition of the company by Digital River Inc., mycoupons.com and giftcards.com were spun off into a new company.  The business was acquired late 2005.  During 2006 I worked to transition the technology platforms from the hosting environment in Pittsburgh to the Digital River datacenter in Minnesota.

Vention, Inc.  Jackson, MS April 2000 to January 2001

Lead the technology resources for this venture backed internet consulting firm.  Responsible for creating and implementing the processes required to support a rapidly growing technology team, including the performance appraisal process, the professional development planning processes and the processes supporting the execution of client development engagements.  Team included over 60 developers, 6 directors of development, an R&D director and team, as well as system administration resources.

Erserve.net, Inc.  June 1999 to April 2000

CTO

Co-founded an Internet company focused on building a scheduling application.  Built the prototype and designed the solution.

Cerner Corporation,  Kansas City, MO April 1996 to June 1999

Managing Director: Responsible for the team developing Cerner’s Internet based Health Channel.  Released a site, IQRX.com to allow consumers to easily identify drug-drug interactions.

Client Program Manager: Responsible for supporting the education services for Cerner clients.  Worked to build a thriving consulting practice providing customized computer based training for clients.  Lead the team and worked  to close client engagements.

Datalytics Dayton, OH June 1995 to April 1996

Project Manager

Worked directly for the President of the company leading special projects, including a deal to create “India Online.”  Negotiated a source license and oversaw the customization of an email client to deployed within the India based online service.
